19 year old emerging talent Sophie DeBattista, originally from Malta and based in London, recently appeared at the Musicalize Concert which took place at IndigO2 Arena.

Musicalize are the leading music company who recognize and support the UK’s best up and coming talent. Their monthly gigs have previously included established UK stars Dizzee Rascal, Professor Green, Chipmunk and Misha B among others.

The concert on Friday 14th June 2013 marked Musicalize’s 2nd birthday celebrations. The all female lineup included Sophie DeBattista who opened the show, Lady Leshurr, The Boxettes, M.O., Little Nikki and American RnB star ‘Ciara’, who was the headliner.

Sophie opened with her own version of Price Tag (Jessie J) and soon had the audience present at IndigO2 singing away with her. Then she performed an original song ‘Independent Miss’ which was very well recieved and ended her set on a high when she delighted the audience by putting her guitar to one side and sang her original song ‘Jump The Gun’ from one end of the stage to the other, and this had a huge impact with the audience who were dancing with her throughout.

At the end of her performance an excited Sophie said “I would like to thank all the lovely people who came down here to support me tonight. I know many of you travelled a long distance to be here, and for me this is absoutely amazing, I feel so blessed. I would also like to thank Ben, Sophie and all at Musicalize, together with all the other fantastic acts tonight for making me feel very welcome on my debut at a major event”.
