Top local band Winter Moods have produced a CD featuring five songs for Puttinu Cares. The CD includes the band’s hit song Miss You featuring international tenor Joseph Calleja and the Maltese classic song Xemx. All donations from this project are going to Puttinu Cares.
The CD is available from Puttinu Cares’ 2013 Football Marathon which is being held at the Marsa Sports Ground between Friday 3rd and Sunday 5th May for a small donation of €5.
‘It is inspiring to see Malta’s best talent come together to support Puttinu. We have been working closely with Ivan in recent years, we appreciate the work, time and investment that he and the band are contributing towards supporting Puttinu,’ said Rennie Vella of Puttinu Cares. ‘Every day we are inspired by people’s generosity and I am sure that this project will raise more needed funds to support our patients.’

The band and everyone who collaborated on this EP put a lot of effort into this project and the outcome is amazing, this is something special.’
The EP contains five songs;
Miss You featuring Joseph Calleja. The song originally featured in Winter Moods’ album Argento. This version with Joseph Calleja was released in 2012, it made a huge impact and topped all local radio charts.
Xemx a timeless classic by The Tramps, re-recorded by Winter Moods with special guests Richard and Mark, sons of the late Domenic Grech who originally wrote the song.
Toast To Freedom, Winter Moods’ version of the song commemorating 50 years of Amnesty International written by Carl Carlton and Larry Campbell.
Friends by Ivan and Melvin of Winter Moods featuring John McDonough on oboe. This song was originally included in Winter Moods’ 3rd album Butterfly House.
Miss You an acoustic version of the song with Joseph Calleja featuring special guest Carrie Haber on piano, and strings by Michel Bisceglia.
The Miss You/Xemx EP was recorded at Temple Studios in Mistra, Malta. All songs were produced, engineered, mixed and mastered by David Vella, except for Miss You which was mixed by Luuk Cox.
The CD will be available from all record shops from Monday.
