Keira Knightley’s father-in-law did not know details of her wedding until the night before.

Bridegroom James Righton’s dad wasn’t kept in the loop about any specific information in order for the ceremony to remain top secret, reports British newspaper The Sun.

The actress tied the knot in front of a small gathering in southern France.

“We were only told to turn up the night before,” the musician’s parent Nicholas said.

Apparently they told guests they would only be attending a party to celebrate their plans to get hitched.

Keira and the Klaxons front man wanted to keep the occasion as low-key as possible.

Just 11 people saw the 28-year-old say “I do” to the 29-year-old keyboard player in the tiny Provence town of Mazan, which is 12 miles from Marseilles, France..

Guests at the 30-minute ceremony included actress Sienna Miller and members of James’ indie band.

The pair both wore sunglasses and skipped out of the town hall after the ceremony on Saturday, using a Renault Clio to transport them to the reception.

Keira wore a Rodarte ballerina-style dress that she had in fact debuted at a pre-Bafta Awards party in 2008.

The star is said to have wept as she and her new husband exchanged vows.

Attendees then went to Keira’s £1.9m farmhouse for a bash which went on until the morning.

Apparently the screen star and her loved ones danced to tracks from the 80s and 90s.
