Last weekend saw many parts of Britain showered with heavy rainfall. However that did not stop tens of thousands of music lovers from attending several events that make up part of the Olympic celebrations and the British summer festival calendar.

At Luton in Bedfordshire, celebrations for the arrival of the Olympic Torch started on Friday 6th July via a concert at Popes Meadow with 'The Wanted' as headliners.
On the same day at Norfolk, King's Lynn held their annual event 'Festival Too', the largest European free music festival, with 'The Pigeon Detectives' headlining on the night, and Lemar + Marcus Collins also headline here.
Saturday 7th July was World Pride Day in London with thousands in the audience packing Trafalgar Square and partying with the likes of Boy George and Deborah Cox.

Despite the grey showery skies, 18 year old 'Sophie' brought some Maltese sunshine to the stage as she lined up to perform at all 3 events, making an immediate connection with the crowds. Chelsea Leigh tweeted "you're actually amazing you need to come back to Luton!!!<3xoxo" Daniel Sanctuary at King's Lynn also tweeted "Watched you at the festival last night, you was awesome and had a photo with you! xx" and at the star studded World Pride, World famous fashion icon Gok Wan (pic) said "Sophie, you look amazing. Great performance".
An Anglo/Maltese singer/songwriter signed to British Music & Management Company 'Thru The Mill', Sophie is a newcomer to the UK music scene and is currently touring here to share her music and make new friends. It is still early days for the teenage talent, but after 10 tour dates, her UK buddies are on the increase. She is very much looking forward to her next visits to Dunstable, Huddersfield, York, Norwich, Doncaster, Liverpool, Weymouth, Rugby and Manchester.
Sophie has recently finished recording her first (self penned) studio album at Freetime studios on Malta. Her new single 'Sunny', a total remake of the 'Bobby Hebb' classic, will be released by Thru The Mill at the end of this Summer.

Despite the hectic weekend, an excited Sophie said "Meeting so many wicked people and I feel very lucky to be making so many new friends!! Everyone's welcome to be a 'Sophie Buddie'. Follow me on Twitter and Facebook. I won't bite, promise! Ha Ha!!" www.totallysophie.com
