Radiohead plan Queen’s Jubilee party in Washington

Radiohead have reportedly brought in patriotic tableware for their Washington DC visit to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee.

The band are touring around the States at the moment, but according to NME, they don’t want to miss out on the celebrations for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

Steve Lamacq of BBC6 says the band’s head of security Colin has “packed numerous Union Jack and Jubilee tableware” for ” a Jubilee party in Washington DC at the weekend”.

Looks like they can’t wait to return for their first UK tour for three years, beginning in October.

This might just be an ironic celebration, but there are certainly sincere musicians who want to cheer the Queen on for her 60th year on the throne.

As we reported earlier, Take That’s Gary Barlow will host the Queen’s Jubilee concert, which features Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Cliff Richard, Sir Elton John, Dame Shirley Bassey, Sir Tom Jones, Stevie Wonder, Kylie Minogue, Madness, Annie Lennox, Ed Sheeran and Jessie J.

It will also feature Australian indigenous star Gurrumul, who will take part in a performance of Barlow and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s commissioned tune ‘Sing’.
