Jesca Hoop is set to release of Born To, the first single from her new album The House That Jack Built, on June 11th.
Reflecting the album’s central themes - life and death, sex and war, head and heart - Born To asks the question – “how is it that I was born into the circumstances I was born into. How is it some of us are born into famine and others into unimaginable wealth?”. The lead track from The House That Jack Built and very much a statement of intent, Born To is a tempestuous, moodily melodic opener.
With Born To playisted at 6music and having just returned from a US tour with the Punch Brothers Jesca has lined up a number of UK dates in support of her new album, including a headlining show at London’s Bush Hall. Tickets are on sale now:
