Bret Michaels settles over Tony Awards injury

Three years ago at the Tony Awards, Bret Michaels was exiting the stage after performing with the Rock of Ages cast when a piece of scenery being lowered from the rafters struck him on the head. Ten months later, he was hospitalized for a brain hemorrhage which he alleges tied back to the injury at the awards.

That was the basis for the lawsuit that Michaels brought against the awards and CBS who broadcast the show. On Monday, it was announced that the lawsuit had been settled between the parties; however, the actual settlement terms were confidential.

The accident initially left Michaels with a broken nose and injured lib; however, doctors later found bleeding from his brain after a warning stroke.

Bret's attorney, Alex Weingarten, issued a statement saying that "Mr. Michaels would like to thank his fans for their continued support."
