Gotye passes 200 million mark

Gotye’s ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ has now topped more than 200 million views on YouTube when combining his video with the cover video by Walk Off The Earth.

The Gotye featuring Kimbra version is now at 133,937,492 views while Walk Off The Earth’s version has done 81,346,824 views bring the total to over 210 million.

The single moved up another position to no. 4 on the Billboard chart this week while the album ‘Making Mirrors’ slipped back three spots to no. 12. The album is also listed at no. 4 on the Billboard Alternative Albums chart.

Wouter ‘Wally’ De Backer (aka Gotye) first released ‘Making Mirrors’ in August, 2011 in Australia. The album was the biggest selling Australian album of 2011. It has been certified Triple Platinum in Australia, Platinum in Belguim and Poland and Gold in Germany.
