Mick Jones, founder and guitarist for Foreigner, undergone what has been called "urgent" heart surgery.

The New York Post reports that the operation, which was done on Thursday, was performed at Mount Sinai Heart Institute in Miami Beach and was made urgent by the fact that Jones had needed the surgery for some time. While there have been no comments on what made the condition urgent, it is known that the guitarist has had to sit out a few recent Foreigner shows due to a "mystery illness."

Jones was in intensive care for a bit of time after the operation but was moved to a regular room by Thursday night. He has been seen up and around since then and is said to be recovering well.
