Gotye's unstoppable single Somebody That I Used To Know hits UK top spot

Somebody That I Used To Know has been a universal hit; to date it has sold 1.7 million and topped the charts in 9 countries. The video has racked up over 70 million YouTube hits (currently averaging over a million hits a day) and has been selected for screening at the prestigious SXSW Festival in Austin this March. The track, which recently topped the Triple J Hottest 100 list and garnered Gotye 5 ARIA Awards, has made an outstanding connection with people worldwide, making Gotye a genuine word of mouth phenomenon and one of the most exciting artists of this generation.

Somebody that I Used To Know's hugely anticipated parent album Making Mirrors ' which has already sold nearly half a million copies worldwide - is released today in the UK.

Gotye will launch his album and a string of sold out UK shows tonight at Wiltons Music Hall, he will also play London's Shepherd's Bush Empire on 29th February.
