Metallica have posted a teaser video promising that fans will see them like never before, possibly in 3D.
In January 2012 the Metallica site followed up on rumours that there was a 3D movie in the works from the legendary metal band.
They wrote: “We’re here to tell you that, yes, there is indeed a 3D project in the very early stages of production! We wish we could tell you more right now, but we don’t have all the finer points nailed down just yet. What we can tell you is that we are planning on being in a theatre near you sometime in 2013 and as you hear us say ever so often, this will be the space for all the details as we finalize them.”
Now, the band have released a teaser trailer for what is hoped to be the 3D film as promised.
On their YouTube account, the band posted up a video of screaming fans, and a list of festivals they’ve played around the world, teasing “But you’ve never seen them…”
We can only hope that the conclusion of that sentence is “…in 3D”. Regardless, the world will find out at 11am Pacific Standard Time, Tuesday 7 February, on Metallica.com
