The company behind Oikos Greek Yogurt has posted an apology to John Butler Trio and will investigate how the music behind their Super Bowl commercial ripped off the song ‘Zebra’ by John Butler Trio.

The Oikos ad screened during the Super Bowl to an estimated 110 million people and at a cost of $3,500,000.

The ad, starring John Stamos, featured a music soundtrack that sounds identical to the John Butler Trio 2003 hit.

A message posted by the Yogurt company on their Facebook page stated “A question about the music in our Super Bowl commercial has been brought to our attention. We are working to fully understand and address the situation. We apologize for any concerns this has caused John Butler Trio’s band members and fans.”

At John Butler’s Facebook page his management has posted, “Thank you everyone for making us aware of the Oikos Greek yoghurt TV ad that aired during the Super Bowl today featuring a song that sounds extremely similar to Zebra.”
