Snoop Dogg has been arrested over the weekend for possessing less than half an ounce of marijuana.

The bust happened in Sierra Blanca, TX when a drug-sniffing dog found two joints in a prescription bottle on Dogg’s tour bus as he crossed the US-Mexico border.

It was the same place country superstar Willie Nelson had been busted for possession in 2010.

Dogg has a prescription for medical marijuana in California, but the prescription isn’t valid in Texas. He was released and given a January 20 court date. If convicted he could face 180 days in jail.

Willie Nelson and Snoop Dogg collaborated on the song Superman on Dogg’s 2011 album Doggumentary.

Although it was a long time ago, Texas is the same state that sentenced Roky Erickson to ten years in a mental institution where he received electro-shock therapy after he was convicted of possession of a single joint. Needless to say those Texans don’t like to mess around with these things.
