Back in 2005, a young goat herder auditioned on the X Factor. This audition introduced us all to the singing and dancing phenomenon that is “Chico”. With the backing of Sharon Osbourne, Chico delighted us each week with his unique style. 7 years on and once again the public will be asked, 'What time is it?' as Chico is returning to our screens this Sunday on the new series of Dancing On Ice.

The public know Chico for 'that' song and for his 'cheesy' persona but I know the real man, the hard worker, the family man, the people person and the all round nice guy.

Chico was the original Jedward & Wagner. He was the first ever X Factor pantomine villain that kept getting voted through to the following week and at the time the media weren’t very favourable. Some of the press attention he received was nasty and hurtful. One even said "Is this man the biggest waste of space on TV?" Well this certainly isn’t the case. I can reel off over a 100 that would take this top position nowadays!

Chico kept positive and went on to reach 5th place. He then released his single, “It’s Chico Time” which climbed right to the top, knocking Madonna off of the number one slot. A huge achievement.

I have worked closely with Chico on a few projects. I have also watched him sign every autograph for his waiting fans in the pouring rain because as he says, "He is nothing without them."

I have also worked on a video shoot with him and from the minute he arrived bright and early at 6am, until the minute he finished 14 hours later, he was always friendly, polite and extremely positive and happy to everyone.

We all remember Chico, even 7 years on. How many of the current crop of X Factor stars will be able to say that?

So this Sunday forget what you know about him and give him a chance to show you what he can do.

What Time is it?....It's Chico Time!
