Currently bringing the finest rock to venues up and down the country on their comeback tour, The Darkness have now confirmed they will play their first ever ‘local’ outdoor show when they perform at Thetford Forest in Suffolk on Saturday 14th July 2012.

Frontman Justin Hawkins offered these thoughts on the announcement: “I have often walked through Thetford Forest, enchanted by bird-song, mesmerised by the rhythm of nesting squirrels. My urge to fill the trees with music of my own can no longer be denied. Thetford has provided The Darkness with much enchantment and inspiration over the years. It's time we gave something bark."

The group’s original line up reformed earlier this year to play the Download Festival and have travelled all over Europe and Japan since bringing their unique brand of high voltage, balls out rock to new and old fans. They have also nearly finished recorded their ‘third music album’ which will be set for release next year.

The tour, which has taken them all over the UK, rolls into London on Friday where they play the Hammersmith Apollo before going off to Dublin and Belfast to round things up for 2011.
