Kasabian unleash ‘Re-wired’ – the follow-up to their classic ‘Days Are Forgotten’ – out November 20th on Columbia.
It’s been a dizzying few months for Kasabian who fortify their grip on the music world with No.1 LP ‘Velociraptor!’ – universally dubbed “their best to date” – a chart-topping album hat-trick and incendiary performances on The Jonathan Ross Show and Later…with Jools Holland.
Now the band return with an explosive tune – “Hit Me! Harder! I’m getting re-wired/I flip the switch that makes you feel electric,” roars Tom in a chorus destined to ignite stadiums the world over. Written and produced by Sergio Pizzorno, ‘Re-wired’ is a turbocharged scorcher, anchored by a devilishly danceable disco beat, thundering guitar lines and a breezy string section.
Directed by Tom Carty, the hair-raising video sees the band locked in a high-speed car chase and pays homage to classic movies The Hitcher and Wayne’s World, among others. Filmed in CinemaScope at Chobham Test Track, Surrey, Kasabian burn rubber in a top-of-the range Mercedes, a bad boy Ford Escort and an old Fiat 126 before finally running off with a VW Campervan. Look out for the premiere later this month.
