Rod Stewart is going to write his memoirs for publication by Random House in October 2012. The rocker promises it will be a wild ride. "It is a funny old thing telling my life story but I truly intend to hold nothing back. Forget skeletons in the closet; this one's going to be socks and knickers under the bed."


David Lee Roth is being a bit cryptic on both Twitter and Facebook but everyone is pretty sure they know his point. He has posted "get ready..." and "get ready for..." with most meaning the announcement of the new Van Halen album is imminent.


After members of Cheap Trick were nearly killed when a stage that they were on collapse in Ottawa, Canada, they've taken up the cause of unsafe equipment including an appearance before congress. On Monday, Rick Nielsen and manager Dave Frey urged congressmen to enact legislation that would set standards for temporary stages.
The band's incident was just the first of four that occurred this summer. It was followed by a Tulsa, OK incident that destroyed about $800,000 of the Flaming Lips' equipment, the Indiana State Fair prior to a Sugarland concert and the Pukkelpop Music Festival in Belgium where five people were killed.
Daisy DeBolt, one half of the Canadian psych-folk duo of Fraser & DeBolt, passed away on Tuesday in Toronto from cancer. She was 66.
The duo signed with Columbia Records and released two albums to ecstatic reviews but the fans didn't follow. They broke up in 1974, playing together only a couple of more times over the years. The Canadian paper The Record summed it up by saying "Fraser & DeBolt were the greatest Canadian band never to have made it."
