Michael Jackson’s son is “nervous” about testifying in the trial related to the singer’s death.

The superstar’s eldest children Prince, 14, and Paris, 13, are both believed to be determined to give evidence. Michael died in 2009 from acute Propofol intoxication and his personal doctor Conrad Murray has been charged with involuntary manslaughter.

Prince and Paris were both eyewitnesses to the scene in the bedroom where Michael died. Prince is believed to have regularly seen Dr. Murray treat his father and he is expected to give “key evidence”.

Although Prince wants to help his father’s case, he fears his nerves will get the best of him if he takes to the stand.

“Sources close to Prince say the 14-year-old is nervous and worried that if he's called to the stand he might get flustered and mess up,” reports TMZ.

The trial against Murray begins today in Los Angeles

It has been reported that if Prince does give evidence his grandmother Katherine Jackson will ask her lawyers to clear the courtroom.

Although this request is not expected to be granted, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor is likely to prevent cameras focusing on Prince.

Murray has admitted giving Michael sedatives – including Propofol – to help him sleep. However, his team will argue that the doses he prescribed were not enough to kill him and Jackson had been administering the drug himself.

Propofol is a powerful anaesthetic which is usually used to put surgery patients to sleep in hospital, and it’s been claimed Michael was using it to battle his insomnia.

A pre-trial hearing was told more than 15 litres of Propofol was delivered to the apartment of Murray’s girlfriend three months before Michael’s death.

Bodyguard Alberto Alvarez is set to testify that the physician asked him to remove an IV drip bag containing the drug before he called emergency services.

There have also been allegations that Michael was already dead when Murray phoned for help and that he waited at least 21 minutes before calling 911.

Fingerprints found on the syringe that killed Michael have not been identified.

It has been reported that they do not belong to Murray or any member of Michael’s family or staff.

The defence team will apparently argue that a ‘Mr. X’ administered a lethal dose of Propofol then fled the scene with over $1 million in cash.

The first prosecution witness to give evidence today is expected to be Kenny Ortega – the producer of Michael’s This Is It comeback shows.
