Drake is “excited” about the success of his current record and believes his singles will receive a lot of airplay.

The 24-year-old rapper officially released the first song from his new album Take Care in August. The track, called Headlines, has climbed to formidable positions in US Billboard charts and radio stations have given the record an abundance of airtime. Drake is incredibly enthusiastic about his single’s success and predicts the LP will do just as well.

"I'm excited about everything that's happened thus far,” Drake told MTV News at BMI Urban Awards. "I've got a lot of records that I think will live on radio for a while.”

Headlines is a very personal single for Drake. The song acts as a sort of announcement to listeners.

"I think it's great; the purpose of [Headlines] was solely to deliver a message," Drake explained. "I could've gone with the record that was sort of super radio-friendly, but I really just wanted to talk to the people with the first record."

Drake’s album is as much of an intimate experience as Headlines. Facets of his life are interwoven in all of the tracks.

"It'll let you know exactly what's goin' on in my life because unlike a lot of other artists, I don't take to social media outlets to tell you what's goin' on in my life," Drake said. "I don't sit there and complain about stuff all day long, I don't lash out, I just sort of save it for the album, so I think if you want to know what's going on with me at all, you'll just listen to Take Care and it'll answer all of your questions."

Take Care will be officially released on October 24.
