Alice Cooper is returning to play the Whiskey A Go-Go in Los Angeles on September 15, 41 years after the last time they played the club opening for Led Zeppelin.
Cooper said "The Whisky had an option for a return engagement, but we got busy and it just slipped our minds. No, seriously, the Whisky gig we did with Led Zeppelin is something we all talk about to this day. It’s going to be amazing to go back as a straight ahead L.A. bar band... We might even take requests. I figure, if we could do it in London, we can do it at the Whisky. And it’s L.A., so you never know who else might show up..."


Sting is writing a musical. The Last Ship is about his hometown of Newcastle, England and has a book by Tony and Pulitzer Prize winning writer Brian Yorkey.
In addition, the singer and his wife, Trudy Styler, are being honored for their philanthropic efforts by the Clinton Global Initiative. Former president Bill Clinton will be presenting the award.


Chickenfoot (Sammy Hagar, Joe Satriani, Michael Anthony and Chad Smith) will be performing a live concert on the web September 27, the day that Chickenfoot III is released. The show will be followed by a 30-minute Q&A session.
Hagger said "When a band can have the technology to allow them to perform in a state-of-the-art setting and take that performance out around the world is amazing! I'm up for that!"


Stevie Nicks is headlining the Entertainment Tonight after-party at this year's Emmy Awards on September 18. The annual gathering has regularly featured veteran performers in the past, including Prince, Cyndi Lauper, Duran Duran and Billy Idol.


70's German rockers Can will be releasing a 40th anniversary edition of their album Tago Mago on November 14. Also on tap is a box set with all of their studio albums in early-2012 followed by a box of unreleased material for later next year.
