Stooges Off the Road Due To Iggy Pop Injury

The Stooges have been forced postpone a number of U.S. dates due to two broken bones in Iggy Pop's left foot.

Iggy sustained the injuries on August 27 during the band's show at the Peninsula Festival in Romania. Doctor's have warned him to stay off the injury for 4-to-6 weeks while it properly heals.

Pop issued the following statement:

I hate this, I hate like hell to cancel or postpone anything. I only saw the doctor because it hurt so fucking much and I couldn’t fix it myself. Please be patient, I am so excited about these dates on the left coast.

The band was scheduled to play in Los Angeles on September 7, Las Vegas on September 10 and San Francisco on September 12 & 13. According to the band, they will be rescheduling these dates for later in the year.

Iggy isn't the only injury this summer for the band. He recently told Rolling Stone that drummer Scott Asheton fell seriously ill earlier in the summer.

He was rushed to the hospital after our appearance at Hellfest in France. He was on a flight to England when all sorts of hell broke loose. Without proper medical attention right there he would have bought it. He got very, very good care from the British and all sorts of tests. He's now at home in Florida and I think he'll be fine with a lot of rest.
