Brian Wilson will followup his album of music written by George Gershwin with one that covers songs from Disney films. In the Key of Disney has been confirmed for a October 25 release as his second record for the Disney Pearl label.

Wilson has worked with co-arranger Paul Von Mertens to give a Beach Boys-style spin to a number of Disney classics including Baby Mine (from Dumbo), I Just Can't Wait to Be King (The Lion King) and an instrumental take on Heigh-Ho and Whistle While You Work (Snow White and the Seven Dwarves).

The album has been in the works for a couple of years and was one of the reasons for Wilson's signing with Disney Pearl, but he wanted to release the Gershwin album first.

Wilson said in a statement "Like every kid in America, I grew up loving Disney, especially the animated classics. The songs from those masterpieces were as much a part of my musical education as anything else. So it only made sense that I would want to put my spin on some of those truly great songs.

"These days, I enjoy watching the classic Disney films with my own children and grandchildren. It’s fun to watch them discover the magic, both in the stories and characters, as well as in the music. I made this album for them, just as much as for me and for my fans, and I hope everyone enjoys it."
