Gavin DeGraw “can’t wait” to perform again after being viciously attacked.

The 34-year-old musician was hospitalised in recent weeks after suffering a concussion, black eyes, broken nose and abrasions. He was jumped by unknown assailants in New York City on August 8.

Unfortunately Gavin had to cancel his tour with bands Train and Maroon 5 as a result of his injuries. Stationed at home in recovery, Gavin wants his fans to know that he is eager to hit the road again.

"I can’t wait to get back out on tour and look forward to seeing you on the road sometime soon," Gavin wrote in a statement to VH1.

Recuperating nicely, Gavin is expected to join the tour soon. He is not fully recovered from his injuries, but he is doing exceptionally well.

“Instead of checking in from the tour, I’m writing as I recover at home," Gavin said. "I’m feeling much better, but it will take a little bit more time to be back to 100%!"

Although friends, family and fans were shocked by the attack, Gavin is still in positive spirits. The encouragement he receives from others puts him on the fast track to health.

"I’m overwhelmed with the outpouring of support from my fans, friends, and family," Gavin said.

The attack on Gavin is still under investigation and the assailants have yet to be found or identified.
