Bono is like a walking encyclopaedia, according to will.i.am.

The Black Eyed Peas star worked with U2 on their track I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight, which was on their 2009 record No Line on the Horizon.

He developed a close relationship with Bono and was impressed by the Irish rocker’s wide knowledge. Bono knows facts about many subjects, and will.i.am enjoyed testing him while they were collaborating.

“Bono leads all the conversations. He’s like the walking [online encyclopaedia] Wikipedia. Ask him anything and he’ll tell you all about it. He’s a wonderful dude. I had the Bono ‘talk’, hell yeah, and it was the first time I had Irish whiskey. That dude is the coolest.”

Bono isn’t the only celebrity pal of will.i.am’s. He was also close to Michael Jackson before his death in 2009 and has some fond memories of the times they spent hanging out.

They worked on music in Ireland together, with Michael convincing will.i.am to go apple picking one day.

“We were in Ireland in a cottage recording and Michael Jackson says, ‘Why don’t you go take the horse and pick apples? Let the horse sniff the apple and then right before he bites it you get it from him because they know exactly what the nice juicy apples are like. And take this bucket.’ So I took that bucket, hopped on that horse and went and picked me some apples. He was a good guy.”
