Gurrumul’s second album has gone gold, as he releases a clip for new single ‘Gopuru’.

Following a top three debut in April, Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu’s second album Rrakala has gone gold.

The indigenous sensation has picked up glowing accolades for his delicate, heartfelt music sung almost entirely in the Yolngu language.

His new single is ‘Gopuru’, a song describing the rhythms of a totem fish swimming.

It was produced by ARIA-nominated producer Michael Hohnen and a new video clip has been released, which was directed by Carlo Santone from friends and collaborators Blue King Brown.

Next month Gurrumul heads out on his first complete national tour, including a slot at the Sydney Opera House.
