Swedish band Europe, who made the top ten in the late 80's with The Final Countdown and Carrie, are going back into the studio to record a new album.

Producing will be Kevin Shirley who has previously worked with the likes of Iron Maiden, Aerosmith, Journey, Rush, Slayer and, most recently, Black Country Communion. He recently met with the group in Stockholm and came away saying "I’ve been a big fan of Europe's work for many years. The band is influential and highly underrated. I can't wait to make the upcoming album their most explosive to date."

"We still feel we have one hell of a rock record to make," says Europe's singer Joey Tempest. "Kevin’s the man for the job. We love his work with Bonamassa, Black Country Communion, and Black Stone Cherry. He's the real deal. We're ready to do some serious damage."

Live Look at EdenEurope is still on the road promoting their 2009 album Last Look at Eden. When the trek ends at the end of the summer, they will begin concentrating on the new album, aiming to start recording in Stockholm on October 3 for an April 2012 release.

In the meantime, the group will be releasing the DVD Live at Shepherd's Bush next month along with a new deluxe book with photos by Denis O'Regan and audio, Live Look at Eden.
