The American singer has a two-year-old baby boy named Knight with her former husband Nas. The stunning star has revealed she wasted no time getting back into shape after the birth.

“After I had Knight I wasn’t gonna kick back and wait for the weight to fall off me,” she told Pride magazine. “I wanted to feel good about myself when I fit into my jeans and I have calf muscles and arm muscles. So I went to the gym, I worked out and I got myself back together.”

The songstress says she maintained her healthy lifestyle during the pregnancy. The star found a positive balance between exercise and diet during the nine month term.

“When I was pregnant I walked about four miles a day, but I ate and I was happy. I had a super healthy pregnancy and a super healthy baby,” she revealed.

Kelis insists that despite motherhood coming first, women should always allow a little time for themselves. The gorgeous singer has revealed that she always takes time out from her busy schedule in order to relax and concentrate on how she is feeling.

“After I had the baby I breast fed, I spent time with him and then I was like ‘OK, it’s about me again,” she explained. “It’s important to make time for your baby but also for yourself because you still matter even though you’ve become a mummy!”
