Jared Leto thinks he’d “lose his mind” if he didn’t take care of himself on tour.
The actor-and-singer is the frontman of group 30 Seconds To Mars, who have been touring the world for the last 20 months. Jared knows most people think playing shows around the world is glamorous, with rock stars spending their evenings partying and meeting beautiful men and women. He insists that’s a myth though, as being on the road is actually a really hard experience.
“I am 100% single right now. You got to give yourself a rest… you got to take it easy sometimes to recover,” he laughed. “I’m officially sharing it around, I’m having fun.
“When you tour as much as we do it becomes normal. You can’t live that mythical lifestyle where people are just wasted… it doesn’t happen like that for us. You have to take care of yourself or you’re going to lose your mind.”
There has been speculation the group are considering splitting up lately, but Jared has rubbished it. He explained he and bandmates Shannon Leto and Tomo Miličević simply want to take some time to relax as things have been so hectic lately. The group feel “burnt out” at the moment, so have decided not to think about when they’ll get back into the studio.
Despite that, there is one person who might make Jared reconsider – Snoop Dogg. He’d love to team up with the hip-hop legend, explaining he’s liked him for years. “Yeah definitely, he’s a legend. I’ve been a fan for a long time so that would be fun,” he told the Kyle and Jackie O radio show.
