The 'Milkshake' singer filed for legal separation from rapper Nas in April 2009 when she was seven months pregnant with their son Knight, now 22 months, but doesn’t wish she had done things differently because she can learn from the experience.
She said: "I'm not a big regret person. I've been divorced, and I can still say I don't regret it.
"I'm a big believer that if a bad situation happens, it is a lesson that needs to be learned, just once."
The 31-year-old star also admitted she feels her life is better than ever and she is "very content" with herself at the moment.
She added in an interview with Attitude magazine: "My mum told us that when we hit our thirties we'd feel our most beautiful and sexy and smart, and I really do feel like that.
"I don't know if it's because I expected it or if it's really true.
"I'm a mother and I do what I love for a living, and I have enough money to do what I want but not so much that it's a stress. I think happiness is a momentary feeling but I'm very content. I feel really good."
