The country singer stepped out with musician Doyle Bramhall for the first time at the Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center spring ball in New York City on Wednesday night (04.05.11).

The couple even performed together much to the delight of attendees who were treated to five songs.

According to the New York Post newspaper, Sheryl and Doyle have been friends for a long time before deciding to make their relationship a romantic one and spent a lot of the evening swooning over one another.

Doyle - who is also vocalist and guitarist for his band Smokestack -has worked with the ‘If It Makes You Happy’ singer for around 10 years and co-produced her 2010 LP ‘100 Miles From Memphis’. He is currently touring with her on her run of shows with Kid Rock.

Sheryl – who overcame breast cancer after being diagnosed with the illness in 2006 – has two adopted sons, Wyatt, three, and one-year-old Levi James, and has previously admitted they have completely changed her priorities in life.

She said: "Kids change your life - period. The first thing you think of in the morning and the last thing you think of at night is them, and every decision that you make in between is dictated by their welfare.

"My tour bus now is a family bus. I've got both my kids and everything that they count on to keep their lives normal on there, whereas before my life was much more me-centric."
