A new supergroup? Lemmy Kilmister from Motorhead has teamed with Slim Jim Phantom from The Stray Cats and Danny B. Harvey from Lonesome Spur to form HeadCat.

Actually, the origins of this band go back to 2000 when the three members were together working on a Elvis Presley tribute special.

HeadCat 2011 will release its first album ‘Walk The Walk … Talk The Talk’ through Niji Entertainment Group, the label owned by Wendy Dio and founded with her late husband Ronnie James Dio not long before his passing.

The album will feature 12 songs, many originals but the covers include Chuck Berry’s ‘Let It Rock’ and Eddie Cochran’s ‘Something Else’. The Cochran song with Slim Jim and Lemmy can be carbon-dated back to the 90s when Lemmy joined Stray Cats on stage and performed it.

The first single is ‘American Beat’, a song Lemmy had the lyrics for and the band wrote in the studio.

HeadCat’s ‘Walk The Walk … Talk The Talk’ will be released on July 5.

The tracklisting is:

American Beat
Say Mama
I Ain’t Never
Bad Boy
Shaking All Over
Let It Rock
Something Else
The Eagle Flies On Friday
Trying To Get To You
You Can’t Do That
It’ll Be Me
