New Johnny Cash Music Festival Will Benefit Efforts to Restore Cash's Boyhood Home

Rosanne Cash, John Carter Cash and Tommy Cash were in Jonesboro, AR yesterday (April 14) to announce the first Johnny Cash Music Festival. The multi-act show will be held on August 4 at the Arkansas State University Convocation Center.

The festival is being held to benefit the effort to restore Cash's boyhood home in Dyess, AR along with other local projects. Born in Cleveland County, AR, Cash's family moved to the federally funded Dyess Colony when he was young. He spent the rest of his youth in the home, graduating from Dyess High School. Arkansas State University recently purchased the home with plans to restore it and open a museum.

The festival will include performances from daughter Rosanne, son John Carter and brother Tommy, grandaughter Chelsea Crowell, close friend Kris Kristofferson and more. More information and tickets are available at the festival web site.
