The Culture Club singer says when he’s in a relationship he is unaware of his feelings but when the romance is over as he appreciates that person a lot more.

Speaking about his bandmate and former lover Jon Moss, he said: “I don’t know if the first was love, it was more obsessive. In fact, I don’t know if any of my past relationships have been love. I love my ex-boyfriend Michael in a way I didn’t when I was with him – I really care about him now, it’s the same with Jon. Quite often I’ve had to lose them to love them in a healthy way.”

The 49-year-old musician also revealed how his taste in men has changed over the years, saying he likes “odd-looking types”.

He told OK! magazine: “When you’re older you have to be more realistic. I like stunning Tom Hardy types but also odd-looking people – I love a big nose, humour, someone who’s got balls and a sense of themselves. Someone can be drop-dead gorgeous and I won’t find them attractive. I’ll find the person who’s giving me no attention attractive!”
