Alternarock stalwarts Incubus return after a five year hiatus by finishing off their seventh studio album.

After touring on their sixth album, 2005’s Light Grenades, the band took a hiatus for family, school and mortgage-paying.

At the time, Incubus singer Brandon Boyd told Ultimate Guitar, "I'm of the mind to say it wouldn't be a bad thing to disappear for a year or two years.”

So they did. And now they’re back. The band posted this on their website:

“The long awaited 6th studio album from Incubus is completed! True to the Incubus legacy, this record is nothing like its predecessor, but still maintains the quintessential Incubus vibe.”

For some reason they seem to have forgotten one of their albums (maybe they’re not counting their 1995 indie debut Fungus Amongus).

There isn’t a release date yet, but we’ve waited this long so a few months more won’t matter.
