Mark Ronson is helping tourmate MC Spank Rock out with a pre-album mixtape.

Ronson told triple j that he headed into the studio for a couple of days with Baltimore MC Spank Rock while on tour to work on a mixtape before Spank Rock’s new album is released.

“Yeah I was working with Spank Rock because he was on this tour with us and he needed to get some work done,” Ronson said. “It was cool and nice, otherwise you just go out and get wasted and spend the day hung over and stuff. It was cool to go into the studio for a couple of days.

"It's great he's nearly done with his new album so we're making a mixtape to build up hype towards it. You know, his stuff came out and it was so progressive and it blew everyone away. It sounded like nothing else so I think he wanted to make sure he got this record right and it doesn't sound like anyone else again."

MC Spank Rock appeared on Ronson’s Record Collection album, guesting on ‘The Bike Song’ with Kyle Falconer from The View.

There’s no release date for the second Spank Rock album as yet.
