Reformed classic power pop act The Cars have announced a release date for their comeback album.

The Cars are charging back after reforming last year. They’re booked for Coachella and they’re now preparing their long, long, long-awaited seventh album.

It will be called Move Like This, with the first single ‘Sad Song’ coming in mid-March and the full album being released on May 10 through Concord Music.

The band released six studio albums between 1978 and 1988 before breaking up.

Singer and guitarist Ric Ocasek spent most of the intervening years producing classic albums from acts such as Bad Brains, Weezer, Hole, Bad Religion, and No Doubt as well as releasing solo albums.
