Slipknot and Stone Sour singer Corey Taylor could be the mystery man fronting rock supergroup Velvet Revolver.

The rumour that he is the “known singer” that is working with the band was put to him during an interview with Billboard.

Taylor reportedly said, “To be continued!” which was followed by “a long, hearty laugh.”

Velvet Revolver consists of Gunners exiles Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum, Wasted Youth’s Dave Kushner and, until 2008, Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland.

The band was to reconvene this year following McKagan’s brief stint in Jane’s Addiction and Slash’s solo album.

They apparently have nine demos ready and have been rehearsing with a “younger and stronger” singer, according to Sorum.

The band plan to release their third album this year, their first since 2007’s Libertad.
