It's been a quarter century since the last time British singer Sandie Shaw has been out on tour. That long, unfortunate streak will come to an end this spring when she goes on the road as special guest of Jools Holland and the Rhythm and Blues Orchestra.

Shaw was one of the most successful female vocalists of the 60's in the U.K., scoring eight top ten hits and three that went to number 1 ((There's) Always Something There to Remind Me, Long Live Love and Puppet on a String). She wasn't able to pull the same audience in the U.S. with her biggest record being 1965's Girl Don't Come.

Sandy dropped out of the music business in the early-90's to return to school and, in 1997, opened "The Arts Clinic" where she specialized in psychotherapy for those in the arts and, eventually, media and sports.

Holland said, "I'm delighted to have the wonderful Sandie Shaw joining us on the road this year, particularly as this is her first tour for such a long time. She is an absolute icon and I am really looking forward to sharing the stage with her on this tour, along with the great musicians we have in the Rhythm & Blues Orchestra".

Shaw added, "I met Jools at Later [Later with Jools Holland] last year and then again at his studio for his Radio 2 programme. We got on like a house on fire and he made me feel very at home. I had a great time that afternoon with some of the members of his orchestra. It was an absolute pleasure to be invited to come on tour. It has been a while but I am really looking forward to the show".
