Following the announcement of this year’s nominations the full performance line-up for The BRIT Awards 2011 with MasterCard is announced today.

The show will feature performances from the biggest global names in music. The previously announced Take That, Plan B, Rihanna and Tinie Tempah will be joined by Mumford & Sons, Adele, Cee Lo Green and Arcade Fire to complete an international stellar line-up. 2011 signals the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Britain’s most prestigious music awards ceremony, The BRIT Awards.

Leading the way with four nominations this year Tinie Tempah has told fans to ‘expect the unexpected’ from his forthcoming BRITs performance. Plan B and Mumford & Sons have both been winning rave reviews for their live performances over the last year and viewers will get to see just why. Take That will be making their first live TV appearance of 2011. The US will be represented by superstar Cee Lo Green, indie icons Arcade Fire and girl of the moment Rihanna, who along with Britain’s very own Adele will be adding the glamour to what promises to be a sensational night.

This year will see artists battling it out for the new BRITs statue, which has been exclusively re-styled by Britain’s most influential fashion designer, Vivienne Westwood. Westwood has styled the famous trophy in her own artistic vision in an initiative, which will see creativity being rewarded with creativity. These statues will be unique to 2011.

Take That, Plan B, Mumford & Sons and Tinie Tempah are all short-listed for the night’s main award the MasterCard British Album of the Year. On the night itself we’ll learn more about the creation of these five nominated albums as they are showcased via short films screened throughout the Awards, building the anticipation towards the evening’s big reveal.

The nominations were officially revealed by Fearne Cotton at a special event at London’s IndigO2 which was televised on ITV2 at the weekend, featuring performances by Jessie J (winner of The Critics’ Choice Award), Tinie Tempah & Ellie Goulding and The Wanted. They are the result of votes cast by the BRITs Voting Academy, which consists of 1000 people from various sectors of the music industry. For the very first time, artists have also been invited to join the Voting Academy and have placed their vote for this year’s winners.
The BRIT Awards 2011will be held at The O2 Arena in London on Tuesday 15th February and will be broadcast live on ITV1.
