Following an incredible breakthrough year, Two Door Cinema Club are set to start 2011 with the release of their new single ‘What You Know’ on January 24th. Interest in the band has gained significant momentum since their summer festival performances and they have now sold in excess of 60,000 albums in the UK making ‘Tourist History’ one of the biggest British band debut’s of the year.

Since releasing ‘Tourist History’ in March, the band has gone from strength to strength, selling out big headline tours in the UK, US and Europe, playing two successive sold out nights at Shepherds Bush Empire, and achieving silver status for the record in the UK and gold in Ireland. This summer, they played a defining set to one of the biggest crowds of the weekend in the NME Tent at Reading Festival and have deservedly earned both a devoted word-of-mouth live following and huge critical acclaim, with The Times calling them “the band of the moment” and NME declaring that they have “quietly become one of the UK’s best loved bands.” By the end of the 2010, the band will have played 214 sold out shows across the world this year.

‘What You Know’ is another riff-heavy flash of quirky pop brilliance, fizzing with understated danceability and a gloriously life-affirming electro-pop chorus. The track has been mixed for radio by Mike Crossey, who has previously worked with Arctic Monkeys, Foals and Blood Red Shoes. It follows the band’s recent single ‘I Can Talk’, which has attracted nearly 2 million YouTube plays and features on the new soundtrack to ‘Fifa ‘11’ on the PlayStation and Xbox.

With dates at London’s Roundhouse and Dublin’s Olympia in March already sold out and the band’s Glasgow show upgraded from the ABC to Barrowlands, Two Door Cinema Club look certain to become one of the biggest bands of 2011.
