A bust of legendary musical prankster Frank Zappa has been erected in his home town of Baltimore.

The bust was donated to Baltimore by scores of Zappa enthusiasts from Lithuania.

It’s a replica of one that stands in a public square in the Lithuanian city of Vilnius.

Oddly enough, it was made by an artist who commonly produces busts of fellow mustachioed iconoclast Stalin.

This was brought up by his widow Gail at the unveiling ceremony, which took place on the 25th anniversary of Zappa’s Congressional testimony on artistic freedom of expression.

She said, “He'd be wildly amused by this, because of the absurdity of these guys in Lithuania coming up with this phenomenal sculptor who normally does busts of Stalin.”

The bust is situated outside an East Baltimore library.
