The singer-and-actress – who married Mike Comrie in a sunset ceremony in Santa Barbara, California, last Saturday (14.08.10) – had to be rushed to the dentist in secret just hours before she tied the knot.

She said: "I started my day with a chipped tooth. My wedding planner snuck me out to the dentist! Thank goodness it was fixed within the hour."

The 22-year-old star also revealed she and Mike penned their own wedding vows with a little help from the internet.

She explained to America’s OK! magazine: "We didn't write our vows word for word. I researched on the internet for three days! I read about other people's ceremonies, picking and choosing what I liked. We chose a few poems and a ring blessing."

Although Hilary loved every part of her big day, she admits her favourite thing about getting married was the huge variety of delicious food that was served.

She said: “I wanted junk food - because I've been so good. I said to my sister Haylie, 'After the wedding is over, I'm going to eat 16,000 calories!'

“The food was one of the most exciting parts of planning. The catering company cooked everything for us so we could taste everything they were going to serve. Mike and I have a favourite restaurant, Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, so they modelled this delicious truffled corn ravioli from there. We had pigs in a blanket; these really cute heart-shaped, puffed, fried things; sliders with Wagyu beef and Gruyere cheese; pepper-crusted rib-eye steak; and miso-glazed black cod.

“We did a jalapeno pineapple martini that my mom actually created. And the dessert station had warm, molten chocolate cake and profiterole ice cream sandwiches with hot fudge dipping sauce. I'm drooling just thinking about it!"

Meanwhile, it has been claimed Hilary and ice hockey player Mike signed a prenuptial agreement before tying the knot.

The contract is believed to protect each individual’s personal fortune if they ever divorce.

A source told the New York Post newspaper: "It was a totally amicable agreement. They love each other very much and knew this was just a technicality.”

Mike’s father Bill Comrie is a co-founder of The Brick furniture company in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and has an estimated $500 million fortune.
