The world of dance music woke up this morning to the tragic news that the global DJ & Producer Tiesto had died in a car accident!
It was 'apparently' reported that the car accident took place on Interstate 80 in California; State Highway Safety Investigators stated that DJ Tiesto lost control and rolled his vehicle several times killing him instantly. The car was owned by a friend. Speed and alcohol were believed to be factors as the car is rumored to have been traveling at 95 mph in a 55mph zone. DJ Tiësto's car apparently crossed double lines before hitting a center lane divider. The vehicle then flipped and rolled several times.
It's not known where this story began but Tiesto confirmed that he was alive and well on his twitter this morning stating 'It's nice to read that people care about my life. Thank you for all the support. It's good to be alive and to get so much love from you xx'
In a separate statement Tiesto said, 'I don't know where these stories come from, but I'm very much alive and well and looking forward to the rest of my tour, including the second Victoria Park takeover in London'.
Tiesto returns to Victoria Park on the 30th July to host the biggest dance event of the year! He will be joined by very special guests Pendulum, DJ royalty Eddie Halliwell headlining the Mixmag & Don't Stay In Arena, South Central, The Japanese Popstars, Avicii + many more!
