The True Blood phenomena keeps getting bigger as Beck, M. Ward and Lucinda Williams with Elvis Costello and Robbie Robertson of The Band all record songs for the second soundtrack.

Robbie Robertson hasn’t released a solo recording since his 1998 trip-hop odyssey ‘Contact From The Underworld Of Redboy’.

Even the newly reformed Stone Temple Pilots have added a track probably cast aside from their self titled album sessions.

There are also a few classics on there, including Screamin’ Jay Hawkins’ ‘Frenzy’. Screamin’ Jay is probably the most likely of all deceased artists on the soundtrack to actually have become a vampire.

The soundtrack gets some underground cred with ‘You’re Gonna Miss Me’ by the 13th Floor Elevators.

The album will be out next week.
