Brand-new glam-rock musical Blok Busta has announced a full cast of live musicians for its West End run at London’s New Players Theatre.
Blok Busta has a predominantly original score alongside some glam classics, all performed live on stage by a multitalented cast who not only act, sing and dance but play all the instruments.
Ben Craig takes the role of Aladdin Pain. Ben previously toured with the National Youth Theatre, starring in Ma Vie en Rose and has acted alongside Angelina Jolie and Anthony Hopkins in Oliver Stone’s Alexander. Ben has just been offered a role in Steven Berkoff’s new film Hunchback.
Tiger Feet will be played by Susannah van den Berg, a classically trained soprano and musician who trained at Birmingham Conservatoire and Rose Bruford. Susannah’s credits include dozens of theatrical appearances, and a number of composing and directing roles.
Mikey O’Connor will take the roles of Inspector Stone and Miss Fit. Mikey’s theatre accolades include playing Hipockets Duncan in Buddy: The Musical as well performing 37 Shakespeare plays in an hour and a half with The Reduced Shakespeare Company at the Criterion Theatre in London.
Clare Kinson will play the roles of Jean Jeanie, Delilah and Alice. Clare holds a postgraduate degree from the Royal Academy of Music and has performed with the NorrKoping Symphony Orchestra of Sweden and at the English Theatre of Frankfurt.
Sarah Vezmar will take the role of Virginia Plain. Sarah recently graduated from Rose Bruford with a 1st class degree in Actor Musicianship. Sarah has a host of theatrical credits and is a highly skilled musician, playing drums, flute, percussion, guitar and double bass.
The role of Hellraiser and Mr. Nice will be played by Alan Howell, who has toured Europe with several theatrical tours, as well as performing at the Glastonbury, Big Top and Ben and Jerry’s Festivals.
Together, this multitalented cast bring a unique experience to the West End stage – original, live and very, very glam.
