will.i.am is taking a “crash course” in UK slang so he can understand his fellow judges on The Voice.

The Black Eyed Peas star sometimes struggles to fathom what stars Jessie J, Danny O’Donoghue and Tom Jones are saying on the talent show. So he’s seeking help from producer Labrinth who he bonded with at the BRIT Awards earlier this year.

“will wants a crash course in youth talk,” a source told British newspaper The Sun.

Labrinth, who showcased new album Electronic Earth in London last night, has told him to watch popular UK TV shows EastEnders and Skins to pick up the lingo.

“Lab’s also going to take him to a footie match,” the source added.

will.i.am has also reportedly been telling Cheryl Cole about his problem getting to grips with popular UK phrases. While singer Cheryl has teased him about the language barrier, she has promised to teach him some slang words.

“will was complaining to Cheryl Cole but she laughed at him as he's always taken the mickey out of her accent,” a source told British newspaper The Daily Star.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that will.i.am got into a heated argument with fellow judge Jessie. Bosses on The Voice “expressed their concerns” about what was said during the heated exchange.

However, will.i.am insisted he made the remarks in good humour.

"There was one point where my team came in and expressed concerns on the banter between the coaches. I am the most unconfrontational man in the world – it is not my style – but that was the first time they have ever seen that side of me and they were like, 'Will, what are you doing?'” he explained.
