American star Zoë Kravitz knows how glamorous her upbringing was, even though at the time it just felt normal.
As the daughter of rocker Lenny Kravitz and The Cosby Show actress Lisa Bonet, Zoë has been at the centre of showbiz since the minute she was born.
While her childhood seemed normal to her, she's also knows that it was a privileged one.
"I wasn't really aware of their fame until I was about eight or nine years old," she told Britain's InStyle magazine.
"My parents are pretty down to earth, and I think it was important to them to not (let their fame) interfere with my development. I'm not going to say it wasn't glamorous, because I know that it was. But it was normal for me."
Her A-list upbringing paved the way for her own successful career and she's a regular in Hollywood blockbusters.
Alongside a successful acting career, which includes stints in Mad Max: Fury Road and Divergent, Zoë also sings in band Lolawolf.
"I'm very aware that I got into a certain room, and I got a reading and got an agent because of who my parents are," she confessed.
"It's not going to be as easy for some 16-year-old girl living in Iowa as it was for me, but at the end of the day, that's not why they hired me. It made me work harder."
And it's not just doors Zoë's famous folks opened for her; they also taught her how to handle the limelight. Like Lenny and Lisa, the 26-year-old isn't courting fame.
“They’re both artists, first and foremost," she previously told Britain's The Independent. "My mom lives a very private life. So does my father. You don’t really see them in the tabloids or anything like that. I think that’s definitely a decision you can make. And some people want that – that’s fine.
"But I’m not looking to be famous. I don’t really need to be on the cover of all these magazines. I want to make art and (fame) comes with it if you’re successful. But being a celebrity is a choice.”
