Late at Tate Britain re-launch with an exclusive film preview featuring recording artists Wretch 32 6-10pm on Friday, 10 April.
The new Late at Tate Britain series have been curated by 15-24 year olds and will open with an exclusive screening of 'When I See You I See Me' a stunning monologue film featuring Wretch 32, where he questions the meaning of the modern day superstar, paving his journey from his Tottenham neighbourhood to the Duveens inside Tate Britain. The evening will also see Wretch 32 in conversation with the film's director Rohan Blair-Mangat.
Wretch 32 said: 'Late at Tate is a great opportunity for young people to connect with art forms they might not otherwise explore. I'm really happy to be part of Speculate, working with Tate on this unique film project has been a great experience.'
Other highlights of the Speculate series will include a ground-breaking soundwork from AUDINT, the latest project from sonic researchers Toby Heys and Steve Goodman (Kode9) and an immersive installation from NANOTAK, a collaborative project from illustrator Noemi Schipfer and architect/musician Takami Nakamoto.
Later in the year, the wider programme of events by Circuit will also include after-hours entrance to the specially selected exhibitions Nick Waplington/Alexander McQueen: Working Process and The EY Exhibition: The World Goes Pop, with music and performance curated by Tate Collective London. Tate Modern will host Summer Tours led by young people and drop-in Saturday workshops to experiment, create and innovate through art.
Late at Tate is a free, drop-in event. Spaces will be available on a first come, first served basis.
