Willie Nelson Gandalf audition tape revealed

US talk show host Conan O’Brien has been celebrating Willie Nelson’s 80th birthday week with a few fun things and a few musical things.

O’Brien “unearthed” and broadcast a lost audition reel featuring Willie auditioning for Gandalf in The Hobbit.

The 80-year country superstar asks Peter Jackson to “hire me and fire that Ian McKellen guy.

He’s a good actor but, hell, I’m Willie Nelson.
