Fans of Van Halen get a special treat this holiday season with the unveiling of a new site that contains over 80 rare performances by the band.

Chris Gossett, a longtime fan of the group, has posted the treasure trove of material on his site at chrisgossett.com/VAN_HALEN.htm.

The site covers all eras of the group from 1976 to 2009 and includes the latest version of the band's complete concert from Columbus, OH on May 7, 2008.

There are also a handful of tracks from some of the offshoots like Chickenfoot.

The earliest tracks date back to 1975 to 1977 with covers of songs by Led Zeppelin, Humble Pie, Johnny Winter, Deep Purple, ZZ Top and more.

Fans have waited well over two decades for the chance to hear these live tracks. They started out as soundboard recordings which were in serious need of enhancement as they were so muffled and imbalanced between the bass and treble and had essentially no mids.

A few adjustments on a Macintosh later and we have what sounds like a dream come true because not only is it crystal clear audio, but Van Halen truly improved over the span of their recent tour.
